Basically, hiring managers are looking for people with experience before they look at certifications. Although Joe Poole did mention that a certification will help get an interview but it is no guarantee of being hired, which is at it should be. All a certification should be is for a foot in the door of a company after you have the interview other factors come into play in regards to how well of a fit someone is for the company that is doing the hiring along with other things.
